What startups would you like to see their Zero to One story?

Good morning! This is Sheldon.

When I started The Zero to One, a core principle I wanted to implement was to build in public.

I see you as part of The Zero to One - so you deserve to know whatโ€™s happening, from a business and personal perspective.

That also means I want to share with you the not-so-great times. Like last week.

A bit about me - I struggle to switch off from work and this newsletter and havenโ€™t taken a break the whole year - not even a weekend off. I like working and I like building something. Itโ€™s fun for me.

But I pushed everything too hard and I inevitably got burnt out. My body was trying to tell me it needed a break. And I got sick.

Now usually I would push through anyway. But this time my doctor gave me a very stern talk about the importance of rest and how the path I was on wasnโ€™t sustainable.

So I decided to listen. But this was difficult for me.

I struggled to get my mind off work and was worried I was letting you down by not writing a newsletter for this week.

But I had to listen to my doctor (and my girlfriend, who also gave me a stern talking-to). I had to rest.

So, unfortunately, that meant I wasnโ€™t able to write a deep dive for this week.

Everything will continue as per usual from next week. With more sustainable ways of working on my side. Iโ€™m looking forward to it!

I do have one important ask for you this week.

I want to get you more involved in the process - so I created a form where you can tell me what company you would like to see me cover (plus any other topics).

I would really appreciate it if you could fill it out!

Last week I did something a little different. Noah Kagan, founder of AppSumo, gave me a BTS look at the launch strategy of his new Amazon Bestselling book, Million Dollar Weekend.

I think itโ€™s a super insightful look behind the curtains of how an experienced entrepreneur approaches a GTM strategy.

Itโ€™s been one of my most loved editions to date. So Iโ€™m going to see how I can incorporate more similar GTM deep dives going forward!

For those of you that are new ๐Ÿ‘‹

Here is my first deep dive on Stan - the startup helping anyone make a living as a Creator.

Itโ€™s one of my favorite companies Iโ€™ve deep dived for many reasons - the two main ones being their mission of enabling anyone to make a living online and the foundersโ€™ candidness with building in public.

Since I wrote this deep dive they have increased their ARR to $25M! Itโ€™s an awesome company on a rocketship trajectory! ๐Ÿš€
